This was enough time to ponder on some exhibits, but not to watch much of the videos or read every panel. We stayed for between an hour and an hour and a half. We parked around the corner at a meter for an hourly fee - reasonable. It was free for admission, but it wasn't free to park. Some interactive exhibits on the 1st, 2nd and 5th floor. Lots of good reading material - signs and plenty of books. There were openings in the wall where you could just walk in - if not for the signs I wouldn't have known the videos were there. Some of the videos seemed hidden from visitors, but weren't. Not much for kids, if that's what you're looking for there were a few exhibits with explicit content.Ī couple exhibits were a little confusing - can I touch this, where should I be looking, should I walk through this/on this/around this. I think it'd be worth it to visit just to look at the architecture and one or two exhibits on the 2nd floor. Like most modern art it's very hit and miss as to whether you'll like it. I loved some exhibits, confused by others, bored by others, even laughed at some. It’s a feast for the eyes, educational for the mind, and joyous for the heart-truly a place that offers something special for everyone. Staff members were equally remarkable, offering insightful information while caring deeply for the well-being of the residents of this unique sanctuary.īottom line: If you’re anywhere near Cincinnati, don’t sleep on the chance to visit this exceptional zoo. Not every day do you get to be so close and personal with these amazing animals! The one-of-a-kind experiences with kangaroos and penguins were jaw-droppingly excellent. It felt more like a wildlife haven, designed with the animals and visitors in mind.Īs parents, the highlight was seeing the joy on our two boys’ faces. The architecture of the exhibits is an experience in itself it blends so well with the natural scenery that you often forget you’re in a zoo. The landscaping is a visual feast, with lush greenery and artistic design elements around every corner. Our family had the opportunity to explore the Cincinnati Zoo recently, and let me tell you, it was an experience we won’t forget! Unlike any other zoo we’ve visited, Cincinnati Zoo stands out for its sheer beauty. I can't give this place enough praise, it was everything I was hoping for. Tons of upright monuments, a Civil War section, incredible mausoleums, and serene ponds makes this place perfect for mediating, exercise (45 miles of paths!), and just appreciating nature and the peacefulness that comes from reflecting in a cemetery. The grounds are immaculate and the landscape is loaded with lots of interesting focal points: hills, spooky trees, small bridges, tunnels, lonely paths. But there's lots of other sights to see, enough that you could easily spend an entire afternoon here. The Norman Chapel is not open except during services and special occasions like Memorial Day, so don't count on that. If there's something in particular you'd like to see, let Pam know - she is very knowledgeable and friendly. The grounds are vast and I would highly recommend stopping at the cemetery office to talk to Pam (wonderful, lovely staff member) and pick up some maps. I can easily see why this is a national historical landmark.
